If you listen closely you can hear he plays it like that. But no one seems to agree with me about this so I marked it as a regular A in the song. But try the other one and see what you think. About the electric guitar in this song, the chords above the lyrics are the chords for the acoustic, the electric plays the same chords only with power chords. You know what I mean, if the acoustic plays G the electric plays G5, acoustic A then electric A5. The only thing you really need to know is about the 'G Em' chord change that is used in both the verses and choruses. In the verses the power chords are played like this: G5/G E5/E E|-----------------------------------| B|-----------------------------------| G|-----------------------------------| D|--5-5-5-5-5-5-5---2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2--| A|--5-5-5-5-5-5-5---2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2--| E|--3-3-3-3-3-3-3-2-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0--| ...but in the choruses and inbetween verses and choruses the 'G Em' chord change is played like this: G5/G (B5)E5/E (D5) E|-----------------------------------| B|-----------------------------------| G|------------------9-9-9-9-9-9-7-7--| D|--5-5-5-5-5-5-9-9-9-9-9-9-9-9-7-7--| A|--5-5-5-5-5-5-9-9-7-7-7-7-7-7-5-5--| E|--3-3-3-3-3-3-7-7------------------| ...and sometimes before going into 'G Em' the electric plays this little fill: G5/G E|------------| B|------------| G|------------| D|-------5----| A|-0-2-0-5----| E|-------3----| Now that's really all I'm going to say about the electric, it should tell you all you need to know. Now here comes the song with the chords for the acoustic guitar. INTRO: [just acoustic guitar, no electric] ------ G Em G Em CHORUS: [just acoustic guitar, no electric guitar] ------- G Em The roof, the roof, the roof is on fire G Em The roof, the roof, the roof is on fire G Em The roof, the roof, the roof is on fire D C We don't need no water let the motherfucker burn C [stop] G Em G Em Burn motherfucker, burn <-electric guitar starts on the word 'burn' G Em G Em [stop] VERSE 1: [just acoustic guitar, no electric] -------- G Em Hello my name is Jimmy Pop and I'm a dumb white guy G Em I'm not old or new but middle school fifth grade like junior high G Em I don't know mofo if y'all peeps be buggin givin props to my ho cuz she's fly A C but I can take the heat cuz I'm the other white meat known as kid funky fried VERSE 2: [Acoustic and electric guitars are used in this verse] -------- G Em Yeah I'm hung like planet Pluto hard to see with the naked eye G Em but if I crashed into Uranus I would stick it where the sun don't shine G Em Cuz I'm kinda like Han Solo always stroking my own Wookie A C I'm the root of all thats evil yeah but you can call me cookie CHORUS: [Acoustic and electric both play] ------- G Em The roof, the roof, the roof is on fire G Em The roof, the roof, the roof is on fire G Em The roof, the roof, the roof is on fire D C We don't need no water let the motherfucker burn C [stop] G Em G Em G Em G Em [stop] Burn motherfucker, burn VERSE 3: [both acoustic and electric play] -------- Yo, Yo, G Em This hardcore ghetto gangster image takes a lot of practice G Em I'm not black like Barry White no I am white like Frank Black is G Em So if man is five and the devil is six, then that must make me seven G Em This honkie's gone to heaven VERSE 4: [both acoustic and electric play] -------- G Em But if I go to hell, well then I hope I burn well G Em I'll spend my days with J.F.K, Marvin Gaye, Martha Raye, and Lawrence Welk G Em and Kurt Cobain, Kojak, Mark Twain, and Jimi Hendrix's poltergeist A C and Webster yeah Emmanuel Lewis cuz he's the anti-christ CHORUS: [Acoustic and electric both play] ------- G Em The roof, the roof, the roof is on fire G Em The roof, the roof, the roof is on fire G Em The roof, the roof, the roof is on fire D C We don't need no water let the motherfucker burn C [stop] G Em G Em G Em G Em [stop] Burn motherfucker, burn Everybody here we go In the outro, the first time you play it, it's just acoustic guitar. The second time you play it the electric guitar joins in and then you repeat it over and over again using both guitars. The 'ooh ooh' sound I think is just someone singing. But if you wanna play it on your guitar you can play it like this: E|---------------| B|-10b12--10b12--| G|---------------| b = bend up D|---------------| A|---------------| E|---------------| OUTRO: ------ G C'mon party people Em Throw your hands in the air G C'mon party people Em Wave em like you don't care G C'mon party people Em Everybody say ho G C'mon party people Em Everybody here we go ********************************************************************** Questions, comments, corrections, requests, send to: qualitytabs@collegemail.com ********************************************************************** Visit the QUALITY TABS INC.
